How to Get Started in 4 Steps

Most families are seeing their therapist within 2–4 weeks of first contact.

Get a Diagnosis

Your child needs a formal autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disability diagnosis from a licensed provider — typically a pediatrician, psychologist, or developmental pediatrician. If you don’t have a diagnosis yet, ask your child’s doctor for a referral to a developmental evaluation.

Verify Medicaid Coverage

Aspire accepts Medical Assistance (Medicaid) including MHCP, UCare, Hennepin Health, Blue Plus, and most Minnesota Medicaid plans at no cost to your family. Call your county’s social services or your child’s case manager to confirm eligibility. No insurance? Call us anyway — we’ll help you figure out options.

Call us at (952) 600-4940 or use the intake form below. We’ll schedule a free 20-minute consultation call, explain services, answer questions, and send you our intake paperwork. We aim to respond within 1 business day.

Begin Therapy

After authorization is received from your insurance, we’ll schedule your child’s first session. Your assigned therapist will conduct an initial assessment, then build a personalized therapy plan within the first 30 days. You’ll be updated at every milestone.

Same day — You’ll receive a confirmation email

As soon as you submit a referral or book a call, you’ll get an email confirming we received it. No need to call to check — we have it.

Within 2 business days — We verify insurance

Our intake team checks your child’s Minnesota Medicaid (MA) eligibility before calling you, so the first conversation is focused and efficient.

Within 1 week — Brief intake call (20 min)

An intake coordinator calls to learn about your child, answer your questions, and confirm which services are the right fit. Interpreters are available in Somali, Spanish, and Amharic.

Within 2–4 weeks — First session

We send you a digital intake packet to complete at home, match your child with the right clinician, and schedule the first appointment at a time that works for your family.

Within 30 days — Personalized treatment plan

Your child’s clinician completes a full assessment and creates an individualized treatment plan — submitted to DHS if EIDBI — with goals your family helps define.
